STILL

Exhibition
Susanna Raunio x Selim
19 Oct - 3 Nov 2017
Satamakatu 5, Helsinki

Images that depict moments are called stills. The word signifies standing still, but also continuation. In a way the immobility of a still life is eternal, yet each combination can be assembled only once. History is seen from the future. Is time beautiful?

STILL was presented as a collection-like room that examined the aesthetics of experiencing time, displays and assemblages, as well as the visual context of the historical.

The exhibition showcased collages created by images and objects by reassembling portions of Now Is Always - a project created in the Bakery house at Brinkhall Manor on the Kakskerta Island during summer 2016 - as well as new site-specific installations and digital media.
